Puzzle
Gridlock Labyrinth
★★★★★ 4.5
Gridlock Labyrinth looks like a hundred other tile puzzlers until about level twenty, when it starts layering in new mechanics — teleporters, locked gates, tiles that split. Just when you think you've mastered it, it changes the rules and makes you think again.
Every level is stored on the device, so there's a huge campaign you can chew through offline. There's also a daily puzzle, but crucially the game doesn't punish you for playing without a connection — it just queues them up for later.
We appreciated the clean interface and the fact that hints are generous but optional. It's a fantastic waiting-room game, the kind you finish a few levels of without realizing time passed.
