The Best Puzzles for a Five-Minute Break
Not every game needs to eat an hour. Sometimes you've got five minutes in a queue and want something you can jump into and out of without penalty. Puzzles are perfect for this, and the best ones save your progress instantly.
Gridlock Labyrinth is my current go-to. Each level is bite-sized, but the mechanics stack up in clever ways so it never feels repetitive. I can play one level, lock the phone, and lose nothing.
The trick with break-time puzzlers is finding ones that don't punish you for stopping. Avoid anything with move timers or daily streak pressure. You want a game that's happy to wait for you.
Keep two or three installed so you don't burn out on any one of them. Rotating between different puzzle styles keeps the whole thing fresh over a long week.
