Five Offline RPGs Worth Your Storage Space
Offline RPGs are a dying breed on mobile. So many of them look great in the store and then hit you with an energy meter and a forced login. These five don't, and I've played every one of them to completion or close to it.
Emberfall Saga leads the pack for me. The turn-based combat is satisfying and the story actually lands, but the real win is that the entire twenty-plus hour campaign lives on your device. I finished it during a week with almost no Wi-Fi and never got stuck.
When you're evaluating an offline RPG, check two things early: does it save locally, and does it use timers to slow you down. A good offline RPG lets you play as long as you want, whenever you want.
My advice is to download two or three at once before a trip. Different moods call for different games — sometimes you want deep strategy, sometimes you just want to grind through a dungeon with a podcast on.
